Dunes National Lake Shore
Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is a treasure of diverse natural
resources located within an urban setting. The national lakeshore
features communities that have both scientific and historic significance
to the field of ecology. In addition, four National Natural Landmarks
and one National Historical Landmark are located within its boundaries.

Michigan City In-Water Boat Show
The only boat show on Lake Michigan featuring sailboats from one-designs
to racer-cruisers all in-the-water, plus free Discover Sailing rides
by Sail America.

Museum
They have over 70,000 square feet of cars on display along with
memorabilia from eras gone by. Enjoy your time in our museum as
you stroll among our collection of classic cars from the early 1900s
through the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s to current times.
The
Washington Park Zoo
The zoo covers 15 acres, on a hilly sand dune, close to Lake Michigan,
where only nine acre are used for animal exhibits. The zoo exhibits
more than 220 animal of 90 different species found throughout the
world.
Michigan
City Old Lighthouse
The city purchased the building in 1963, and entered into an agreement
with the Michigan City Historical Society in 1965 whereby the Society
would restore the structure and maintain it as a museum. After eight
years of restoration, the museum was opened on June 9, 1973, and
since that date has remained opened to the public every summer.

Throughout the summer months (as well as select months throughout
the year), the Michigan City Summer Festival is pleased to offer
a variety of fun family friendly activities, many at no-cost or
low-cost to patrons.
Preservationists
of Michigan City
Find the Barker House located on Barker Road in Michigan City, and
other historic structures. The Prairie School house is situated
on 30 acres of woods designated as Classified Forest, unique for
an urban setting. It was built during the early 1900's and is on
the National Registry of Historic Places. Take a tour of historic

LaPorte
County
LaPorte County has six museums and is home to a symphony orchestra,
as well as a chamber orchestra. LaPorte County is the “Heart
of Art”, with many talented local artists displaying paintings,
sculptures, and photography and is host to five community theatres.

the exhibit The City Beaches, whether to more Pop Art painting,
back to more traditional scenes or in a new direction. But he does
